They have solidified their reputation as the best brand to go to for your denim needs. Moreover, they are most popular for making the best quality of blue denim jeans.
Levi Strauss and Co. is known for creating strong, and durable pairs of denim jeans and jackets. But this brand didn’t just pop out of nowhere, they are actually rooted in a rich history stemming from the Gold Industry of San Francisco from centuries ago.

Who is Levi Strauss?

From here on, Levi Strauss has been innovating and has created the iconic blue jeans, back in 1873. One of the main customers of the company were miners, and Levi along with his partner, David Stern – has noticed a recurring problem by one of their customers.
One of their loyal consumers has been going back to the store repeatedly to buy cloth and reinforce his pockets. From this problem, David and Levi came up with the solution to use copper rivets to reinforce weak points of the jeans. These are still enforced in Levi’s pants that we see today, the small copper dots on the corners of pockets and the base of the zipper.
David Stern and Levi Strauss obtained and secured the patent for their innovation. The two was a thriving partnership because David Stern had the innovative ideas, and Levi had the business running. To which, they were mutually benefiting off of each other.
Contrary to popular belief that their first consumers were miners, this doesn’t hold true. But they did provide the denim overalls for the Golden Gate Miners in San Francisco.
Levi’s Today
Now, they are operating more than 2,800 stores worldwide, but still they are headquartered in California. Levi’s are now made overseas but there is just one line of jeans that are made in the United States, specifically in Greensboro, NC. Levi’s is now ran by Chip Bergh, Harmit Singh, and Stephen Neal.
What’s so spectacular about the company is that they have stuck to their roots and they have thrived through the years with their bread and butter: Denim Jeans.
Levi Strauss and Co. is now valuated over 5 Billion Dollars on revenue and employs more than 15,000 employees worldwide.
