What is data recovery?

Hard disk drive data recovery is the process used to recover data from failed data storage devices, such as hard drives, flash drives, SSD/memory cards, RAID’s, servers, phones, computers, etc. It may involve mechanical repairs inside of a Cleanroom, imaging the device, and repairing corruption. At TTR Data Recovery we use highly specialized and technologically advanced tools to recover your data with the upmost efficiency and security.

How do I know if I need hard drive data recovery?

Do you have a storage device that you can no longer access the data from, either due to mechanical failure, corruption of data, or an unknown cause? We recommend that you stop using your device immediately and consult with a hard drive data recovery professional. In some instances, continuing to use the device can actually cause more damage to the device. At TTR Data Recovery, we’ll evaluate your device for free and let you know what the exact issue is. If your device needs data recovery, we’re prepared to handle any type of media failure.

How secure is my data with TTR Data Recovery?

TTR Data Recovery operates under the highest level of security protocols in the data recovery industry. Customer privacy and confidentiality are our number one priority and we accomplish that by adhering to SOC 2 TYPE 2 security standards. At no point in the recovery process will your confidential data go online and nobody will have access to your data except our highly qualified and trained data recovery engineers.

Who will see my data?

At TTR Data Recovery the privacy and security of your data means everything to us, because we know it means everything to you. Our highly certified and capable technical team don’t even have to see your data to recover it. We have specialized software that will validate the legitimacy of your data once it is recovered. That means that your sensitive data won’t be viewed by anyone accept you, unless notified otherwise.

Does TTR Data Recovery keep a copy of my recovered data?

TTR Data Recovery reserves the right to retain a copy and or image of your recovered data indefinitely, however, our procedure is to securely erase the data 10 days after the recovery is complete.

This is to ensure that if anything goes wrong with your copy, we have an extra on hand. If you wish to request that we do NOT retain a copy of your data at all, we can securely erase the data immediately upon completion of the recovery and provide you with a certificate of secure data removal.

What if I decide not to proceed with the recovery at any time? Will there be a charge?

We have a strict No data, No Charge Policy for most recovery types. This means that if no data is returned to you for whatever reason (your data is unrecoverable or you have declined the recovery) then we will return your media back to you free of any charges.

Certain types of recoveries may require an upfront part fee, usually for mechanically failed hard drives over 2TB in storage capacity.

The part fee does get credited toward the overall cost of data recovery, and is not refundable if you decline your recovery at any time. However, if the data is unrecoverable then that part fee will be refunded back to you. Expedited recovery services may also require upfront, non-refundable fees.

How will I know what files have been recovered?

Once we have completed the recovery of your data, you will be sent a zip file or online login and password to view a Recovery List of all the files that have been recovered so that you can verify the data before approving the final results and proceeding to payment. If the data you are looking for has not been recovered and you do not wish to retrieve any of the recovered files, we will return your media back to you free of charge.

How will my recovered data be returned to me?

In most cases we will need to return your data via a USB external hard drive, which you can provide to us or purchase from us. Your representative can talk to you about your options for data transfer.

In most cases, your recovered data will be returned to you in the same format and file structure as it was before your device failed.

How long will the free Diagnostic Report take?
